Parsley is an amazing medicinal herb, is delightful to the taste and agreeable to the stomach. It is a very versatile plant to aid the body in regaining health. The root contains calcium, B-complex vitamins, and
iron, all of which nourish the glands that help regulate the uptake of calcium. It is a source of both magnesium and calcium, and especially potassium.
Parsley is high in vitamin A, beta-carotene and vitamin C. As a wholesome organic-food it is also a good choice for bone health with vitamin K (536 mg in an average serving).
Traditionally. parsley has been used for congestion and inflammation of the kidneys and bladder, gravel, stones, and urine retention. The root and leaves are excellent for the liver and spleen. It is also one of the best reliefs for edema, helping when other remedies have failed; parsley is a very reliable diuretic remedy often ignored today. Parsley root and seeds contain ingredients that help produce a pain relieving benefit to relax stiff joints.
imagesMany people use parsley root tea to make stiff and unmanageable fingers work again. Pour a quart of boiling water over a cup of firmly packed fresh parsley and steep for 15 minutes. Strain and then refrigerate.
Parsley works on the gall bladder and will remove gallstones if used properly by taking a pint of the tea daily. Parsley is a specific for the adrenal glands, is powerfully therapeutic for the optic nerves, the brain and the sympathetic nervous system.
Parsley juice is an excellent tonic for the blood vessels, particularly the capillaries and arterioles. But remember that raw parsley juice is a most potent juice and should never be taken alone in quantities of more than one or two ounces at a time unless it is mixed into a sufficient quantity of carrot or other juices. Parsley can help with expelling watery poisons, excess mucus, flatulence (gas), and reducing swollen or enlarged glands.
The usual remedy for kidney, bladder, and edema is to make at least two quarts of a strong parsley tea and drink copiously. If the urine is suppressed, drink one half to one teacupful, hot, every hour.
It is best to avoid large amounts of parsley if you are pregnant, especially the use of the volatile essential oil.

FAQ: The Deadly Ebola Virus
Perhaps no virus strikes as much fear in people as Ebola, the cause of a deadly outbreak in West Africa.
The World Health Organization reports more than 1,300 cases of Ebola in the countries of Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone as of July 31. More than 720 people have died.
Two Americans are among those infected. Kent Brantly, MD, working in Liberia with the relief organization Samaritan’s Purse, arrived in the United States on Aug. 2. Nancy Writebol, a missionary for the Christian mission organization SIM who was in Liberia on a joint team with Brantly, arrived in Atlanta on Aug. 5. Both are being treated in a special isolation unit at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital.

Sun exposure cuts the risk of certain cancers in half

Sun exposure cuts the risk of certain cancers in half
It’s an absolute miracle, an alliance of divine life, how the Earth is positioned, so delicately in relation to the sun. Two stellar bodies communicating with such intricacy and harmony in space and time, one sphere rotating in seasonal rhythm, the other projecting flares of brilliant heat and light.
Every living thing — from dragonflies to orangutans, from dandelions to oak trees, from mushrooms to humans — peers beyond their plot on the sphere of Earth, looking up through the atmosphere to absorb the ever-powerful rays of the flaming sun.
In the industrialized world, many men and women have fled to the shade, working under roofs day in and day out. Naturally, the skin craves the sun’s light; it yearns for its immune-system-stimulating vitamin D, but humans today often go for long periods without absorbing these powerful rays.

Green tea could reduce pancreatic cancer risk

Green tea could reduce pancreatic cancer risk
Green tea could reduce pancreatic cancer risk
Green tea and its extracts have been widely touted as potential treatments for cancer, as well as several other diseases. But scientists have struggled to explain how the green tea and its extracts may work to reduce the risk of cancer or to slow the growth of cancer cells.
A study recently published online by the journal, Metabolomics, offers an explanation that researchers say could open a new area of cancer-fighting research. The study reports that EGCG, the active biologic constituent in green tea, changed the metabolism of pancreatic cancer cells by suppressing the expression of an enzyme associated with cancer, LDHA.
The researchers also found an enzyme inhibitor, oxamate, which is known to reduce LDHA activity, operated in the same manner: It also disrupted the pancreatic cancer cells metabolic system.

6 Simple Steps To Activate Your Body’s Self-Repair Mechanisms

by
Take a moment and check in with yourself. How is your body feeling right in this moment? If you’re generally healthy, check in for subtle symptoms. Is your neck feeling tense? Does your lower back ache? Do you have a headache? Are you exhausted — again? Or perhaps you’re battling a more serious health diagnosis and you’re experiencing symptoms from your health condition.
Whether you’re experiencing the nuisance of a minor physical symptom, the more concerning stress of a serious health condition, or simple curiosity about how you might maximize your vitality and longevity, I’m psyched to share with you something they never taught me in medical school.

The Body Knows How To Heal Itself

Your body is beautifully equipped with natural self-repair mechanisms that are under the influence of thoughts, feelings and beliefs that originate in your mind. It knows how to kill cancer cells, fix broken proteins, slow aging, eliminate toxins, fight infections, get rid of foreign bodies, and otherwise keep you healthy. Things go awry and disease manifests when these self-repair mechanisms fail to function properly.
But here’s the kicker. Your nervous system has two operating systems — the “fight-or-flight” stress response dominated by the sympathetic nervous system and the relaxation response run by the parasympathetic nervous system. Only when your nervous system is in a relaxation response do your body’s self-repair mechanisms function!
The stress response is there to protect you in case a tiger chases you. But these days, we’re pretty safe from tigers, and yet our stress responses get triggered, on average, over 50 times per day. How? The amygdala in your lizard brains perceives negative thoughts, beliefs, and feelings, such as financial fears, relationship worries, work stress, loneliness, or pessimism, as threats equally scary as a tiger. Then BOOM. The scaredy-cat amygdala goes on red alert, and when this happens, our bodies can’t repair themselves. No wonder we get sick!
6 Simple Steps To Activate Your Body’s Self-Repair Mechanisms
You don’t have to be at the mercy of your stress responses. As I teach in my new book Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself, you can be proactive about activating your body’s natural self-healing. Try these scientifically-proven steps as a health prevention strategy or as treatment for any health condition you might be battling.
Step 1: Believe You Can Heal Yourself
Don’t believe that positive belief can cure the body? Think again! The medical establishment has been proving that the mind can cure the body for over 50 years. We call it “the placebo effect,” and it has been proven to cause resolution of symptoms- and real physiological change — in 18-80% of the patients in clinical trials who are treated with nothing more than sugar pills, saline injections, or fake surgeries.
As long as you believe your condition is “incurable” or “chronic,” it will be. Don’t believe your health condition could possibly resolve? Check out the Spontaneous Remission Project, a compilation of over 3,500 case studies proving that spontaneous remission has been reported for just about every illness out there- Stage 4 cancers, HIV, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, autoimmune diseases, even an untreated gunshot wound to the head!
For my skeptical physician mind, reading through all these case studies was a paradigm shift. It’s kind of like the story of the 4-minute mile. Exercise physiologists used to think the body was physiologically incapable of running a mile in less than 4 minutes — and so no athlete ever did it. Then in 1954, Roger Bannister ran a mile in three minutes and fifty-nine seconds. Once that limiting belief was shattered, virtually every athlete that competes in a world-class event has run the mile in under four minutes. Today’s world-record time for the mile is 3:43:15, more than 15 seconds under 4 minutes.
What if your belief that the body can’t heal itself is like the 4-minute mile? For some mind-blowing stories about how positive belief can radically affect your health, watch my TEDx talk Is There Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself?.
Scientific data proves that once you believe healing is possible, it can be. So what do you believe?
Step 2: Find The Right Support
To say that you can heal yourself is sort of a misnomer because the scientific data proves that, equally essential to positive belief is the nurturing care of a true healer, someone optimistic who shares your positive belief, includes you in true partnership, respects your intuition, cares for your wellbeing, and ensures you that you won’t be alone on your self-healing journey.
Do you have the right healers on your health care team?
Step Three: Listen To Your Body & Your Intuition
Nobody knows your body better than you, not even a doctor. We doctors may know the arteries of the leg or the anatomy of your organs better than you, but you know what’s best for your own body better than anyone else. When my literary agent first read Mind Over Medicine, she said, “Lissa, before I read this book, I honestly thought my body was none of my business. Now I know better.”
Yes! Your body is indeed your business. So listen to your intuition and trust what it tells you.
Not in touch with your intuition? Then listen to your body, which is one vehicle your intuition uses to speak to you. If you have a physical sensation in your body — pain, tightness, nausea, clenching, dizziness — ask your body what it is trying to communicate to you. Then listen up! This is the voice of your inner wisdom and it will always lead you directly to your true north.
Step Four: Diagnose The Root Causes Of Your Illness
Your doctor may give you one kind of diagnosis- migraines or irritable bowel syndrome or breast cancer, for example. But the kind of diagnosis I’m talking about gets at the root of what might have triggered stress responses in your body and deactivated your body’s self-healing mechanisms, thereby making your body vulnerable to illness.
What aspects of your life are activating your stress responses? What relaxation response-inducing activities — like meditation, creative expression, laughter, engaging in work you love, massage, yoga, or playing with animals — have you been neglecting?
Illness is often a wake up call, forcing us to get down and dirty with what’s really true in our lives. We can either play the victim or we can use illness as an opportunity to awaken.
If you’re struggling with a physical issue, what might lie at the root of it? For more ideas about what might lie at the root of your illness, check out my TEDx talk The Shocking Truth About Your Health.
Step Five: Write The Prescription For Yourself
This won’t be the kind of prescription you fill at a pharmacy, though it certainly may include elements of Western medicine. It’s more of a self-guided action plan intended to make your body ripe for optimal health and full recovery.
So ask yourself, “What does my body need in order to heal?” Your Prescription may include diet changes, an exercise regimen, and a conventional medical treatment plan. But it may also include getting out of a toxic relationship, quitting a soul-sucking job, adding a meditation practice, taking steps to get out of debt, or following a passion.
Be as specific as you can. Then muster up the courage to put your plan into action!
Step Six: Surrender Attachment To Outcomes
What if you’ve adopted a positive attitude, found the right healer, tapped into your intuition and your body, diagnosed the root cause of your health condition, written The Prescription for yourself and put it into action- but you’re still sick? Are you doing something wrong? Is it your fault you’re still sick?
Absolutely not — and any talk of guilt, blame, or shame for someone on a healing journey only activates more stress responses and harms the body.
So what’s the deal? This is where the art of surrender comes in. Some patients do everything “right” and spontaneous remission happens. But others are the proverbial choir- and they’re still sick. Why does this happen? Honestly, I don’t know. The only real answer is a spiritual one. Perhaps our souls come here on this earth to learn lessons, and illness can be a spiritual practice, a way to learn our life lessons and a part of our soul’s destiny.
What I can say is that if you’ve followed the 6 steps, you’ve done everything within your power to make your body ripe for miracles — and the rest is out of your hands. So take a deep breath, trust The Universe, surrender attachment to any particular health outcome, and let any health condition you face be an opportunity for spiritual awakening.

Obesity: The Absolute Reality.

by
With obesity now affecting 1 in 4 adults and 1 in 5 children, it is edging ever closer to becoming an epidemic and it is largely down to our unhealthy western lifestyle. Our lives are filled with processed foods, sedentary jobs and a lack of exercise. This has led to us being less healthy, over weight and putting excessive strain on the NHS as we demand help with obesity related illnesses. And now, with children becoming part of the statistics, we are merely saving up decades of obesity related financial pressure on the NHS.
Obesity is generically described as anyone with a BMI over 30 or else women with a waist circumference of 80+ centimetres and men with a waist circumference of 94+ centimetres.
The dangers of obesity are becoming more present in our lives as television shows such as Embarrassing Bodies and Super Size Versus Super Skinny show the life threatening affects of being drastically over weight. But what are the black and white facts of being obese?

The negative effects of obesity

Diabetes – Type 2

This is developed when the body does not react to it’s natural insulin production or else does not produce enough insulin through poor dietry habits. This lack of insulin means blood glucose levels become dangerously high which is when hypoglycemia can kick in. This can take the form of constant thirst, severe fatigue, poor vision and a need to urinate a lot more. Type 2 Diabetes can also lead to regular bouts of thrush, constipation and skin infections.

Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease is the UK’s biggest killer, leading to around 82,000 annual deaths,or in other words 1 in 5 men and 1 in 8 women. When the arteries become blocked due to a poor and fatty diet, heart disease can be the result which can cause heart attacks, angina, heart failure and ultimately death.

Cancer

Predominantly:

1) Bowel Cancer

You may notice a change in bowel habits, blood in your feces and weight loss. If caught in time, the chance of survival can be as high as 90% through methods such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The excess insulin from the Type 2 Diabetes can in fact stimulate the cancer cells growth in the bowel.

2) Breast Cancer

Being overweight and going through the menopause can cause excess oestrogen in the breasts which can lead to breast cancer. It generally falls under the categories of invasive or non-invasive cancer and can be treated, as with bowel cancer, with surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy.

Stroke

This is caused when oxygen stops being carried to the brain by the blood. During a stroke one side of the face may drop, arms may be immovable and speech could be slurred or rambling. Over weight people are at higher risk because of the related conditions which affect blood circulation (and as such affect oxygen getting around the body) such as high cholesterol and blood pressure. The results of a stroke can be long term and rehabilitation may be required. Strokes are believed to be preventable through living a healthy lifestyle which can keep your blood and cholesterol level lowered.

With your life on the line, the choice between surgery, chemotherapy, infections, the horror or being diagnosed with life threatening diseases and death, or simply eating well and getting rid of excess weight should really be an easy decision. Moving more and eating a little less is all it takes to help the body start to shed weight and that is a very simple combination to ultimately help you lead a healthy, and hopefully longer, life!

Natural Remedies for Erectile Dysfunction

by
Natural Remedies for Erectile Dysfunction
Herbal impotence treatments are growing in popularity. Slowly but surely, more men are willing to seek treatment for this condition that significantly impacts one of life’s most precious pastimes. If you have signs of impotence, read on to find out how an herbal remedies can alleviate this problem.
The most notable symptom of impotence is erectile dysfunction. In simple terms, this means a man is either not able to achieve an erection at all, or he has difficulty maintaining an erection long enough to penetrate and/or fulfill his sexual partner.

Causes of Erectile Dysfunction:

  • Inadequate blood flow to the penis due to poor circulation or narrowed arteries is one cause of erectile dysfunction.
  • A change in hormone levels, particularly low testosterone also plays a role.
  • Problems within a person’s nervous system can also impact a man’s erection. The spinal cord acts as the main line of communication between the brain and the male genitals so any disruption to the nervous system will negatively affect this communication.
  • An herbal impotence treatment that is made with the right combination of ingredients will target each of these areas.
    * Siberian (Oriental) Ginseng, also known as eleutherococcus senticosis has been heralded in eastern civilizations for decades as the herb that will increase a man’s vitality. Specifically this herb helps improve blood flow to the penis (and throughout the body). With more blood where it is needed, Siberian Ginseng greatly improves stamina.
    * Smilax Ornata restores potency levels by assisting in the production of the male hormone testosterone. The steroidal saparins in this ingredient are believed to be capable of copying the functionality of some hormones found in humans.
    * Glycorrhiza Glabra also helps promote the production of another important hormone, hydrocortisone by stimulating the adrenal cortex.
    * Turnaria Aphrodisiaca stimulates the nervous system which in turn increases a man’s sex drive and overall energy level.
    * Kola Vera is another performance stimulant.

Public Experiment on Women Abuse in India

by
Many folks are jus fit to do the candle march or protest ... but i salute to the FEW heroes ... very well done social experiment.. so we now know who is irresponsible.... This video is inspired by ‘Fouseytube.’ We hear about rapes everyday in India, which leads to widespread protest. Thousands of people attend candlelight marches, but only a handful of people act when it really matters. So we set out to find how many people would actually help if someone’s in trouble. What We did: We conducted a social experiment on the streets of Delhi which is perceived as not so safe place for women. We parked a car in an abandoned street and played the shouts of help from the car to capture the reactions of the common people passing by.
