Diet Plan & Home Remedies For Vitiligo

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease in which pigment cells(melanocytes)are destroyed causes irregular white patches on the skin.
A nutritious, well-balanced, healthy diet is recommended in cases of vitiligo. It can help to  immune system and protect you from disease, also help in recover from skin discoloration by providing essential Vitamins(b12,c,folic acid) and Minerals that take part in the process to form a new pigment. phytochemicals have been protect from cell damaging and disease.
Observed that people with vitiligo have deficiency of vitamin B12, folic acid,vitamin C daily. Before taking any supplements to replenish filling again lost nutrients  try to eat  foods that are rich in them. Vitamin B12 can be found in meat, soy milk, dairy products, fish, and shellfish. vitamin B( fruits, dried beans and peas, and fruits). Zinc can be found in beef, shellfish, nuts, and legumes.

Home remedies for vitiligo:

Turmeric & mustard oil: Mixture of turmeric and mustard oil is very useful in the treatment of vitiligo.It can also boost up your immune system.Add 225 ml of mustard oil in 4 teaspoons of turmeric powder and make it as a paste.Apply that mixture on white spots on the skin and for a better result apply it twice in a day for 1 year.


Wild duckweed: It helps in the healing process of vitiligo and add pigment back to the skin.Take duckweed and wash it cleanly,then grind it to make it in the form of a paste.Add this paste to the one part of honey and have it twice in a day after meals.For a better result continue this process for 8-11 months.



Red clay: Red clay is one of the useful remedy in the treatment of vitiligo(or)leucoderma.Red clay is available at river sides or in a hill slopes.Add ginger juice to the red clay and make it as a paste.Apply the paste twice in a day for a noticeable results.



Radish seeds: Radish seeds is one of the best known remedy to cure the vitiligo disorder.First of all take 30 grams of radish seeds and grind them till powder form then add vinegar to it and make it in to the form of fine paste.Apply the paste on white spots of the skin,for a better result apply it twice in a day.



Neem oil: Take  100 ml of neem oil and add 50 grams of neem tree bark powder and boil this mixture in 200 ml of water till water is completely evaporated and oil remains.Store the oil in a bottle and apply this tepid oil and massage it for 10 min and wash it of after some time.



Tips to avoid vitiligo:
  • Avoid oily and fatty food it may worse skin disorders.
  • Stop eating junk food,canned food these contain preservatives which can damage more and even worsen the white spots or vitiligo.
  • Apply sunscreen lotion with a SPF of 30 or higher to protect affected skin from sun burn.
  • Avoid skin trauma.

vitiligo diet plan:

  • Whole-grain food (great source of fibers, vitamins, minerals and oligo elements)
  • Spinach (loaded with iron, and folic acid, helps reduce blood levels of homocysteine, a substance that may damage blood vessels.
  • It contains phytochemicals that help prevent degeneration.
  • Broccoli,  sprouts, cabbage, etc. – Contains abundant phytochemicals (good, protective substances found in vegetables and fruits) that may prevent skin cancer and balance the immune response,
  •  Vegetables  - Each one contains different types of phytochemicals plus Vitamins, Minerals and other nutrients.
  • Different sources of protein  fish and milk products.
  •   Rich in vitamin E, contain protective phytochemicals and good fats, all beneficial for your skin.
  •  Oats  Help lower cholesterol and high blood pressure but it also contain vitamin E  which protect the skin.
  • Garlic – Protects the heart and skin, it has antibacterial, antifungal properties.
  •  Blueberries  Probably contain more anti-oxidants than any other fruit or vegetables. Contain powerful phytochemicals: anthocyanins that not only protect the skin but boost brainpower including memory.
  •  Tomatoes  Contains lycopene, the most powerful antioxidant .  Also a great source of Vitamin C.
  • Fruits Contain different combinations of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and antioxidants, good  for your skin.
  • Apple and onion are beneficial for Vitiligo because they are rich in food supplement to reduce the disease.
